The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully organized two impactful workshops and training sessions with members of Sports Federations and Ministry representatives in June and September. These sessions were part of the advanced management courses in sport, aiming to enhance leadership skills and promote gender equality within sports organizations. Over 20 representatives participated in each event, gaining valuable insights on how to increase women’s participation in leadership roles within their respective federations.

The National Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina proudly recognizes the active involvement of a representative from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, a key stakeholder in this initiative. Their participation not only underscored the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration but also encouraged participants to apply what they learned during the workshops. The Ministry has assured ongoing support, emphasizing that most of the funds necessary for implementing strategies related to women’s empowerment in sport are available through stakeholder contributions.
Expert speakers included Jasmin Hodzic, who provided detailed guidance on financing strategies, Ema Habul, the project Women4Sport coordinator responsible for ensuring the smooth execution and follow-up of the training sessions, and Maja Djuric, an EU project expert specializing in international collaboration and funding opportunities. Their combined expertise contributed to the success of these courses, fostering a greater understanding of strategic management and resource mobilization in promoting gender equality in sport leadership.

The NOC of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to continuing these efforts and facilitating further capacity-building opportunities that will support sustainable development and inclusive leadership within the national sports community, which leads to an increase of raise numbers of women in leadership positions.
